Jamison Shaw Hairdressers is widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost authorities in the revolutionary French technique.  Having studied in Paris and New York, Jamison Shaw ‘Americanized’ the French technique and has instructed tens of thousands of hairdressers world-wide in this method and has expertly performed well over half a million French haircuts in our Atlanta salon.  The French technique focuses on a woman’s head shape and uses her hair to frame her face resulting in soft, sexy, versatile, feminine looks.  (As compared to the traditional British method which is more rigid and architectural in nature.)  The French technique stands a woman up for part of her haircut so the hairdresser can study how the hair naturally accentuates her face just as an artist would study a canvas.  A French haircut is followed by the classic French finishing technique, which utilizes a round-brush and a blow-dryer nozzle to create extraordinary shine.  The French hair coloring method is also unique.  Our French highlighting technique is known as Balayage (the French word for ‘sweep’) by which we use a brush to paint highlights directly onto dry, precut hair achieving beautiful results that mimic natural ‘sun kissed’ highlights.
